The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) supports small and medium-sized enterprises in Canada build their technology and innovation capabilities. Our Industrial Technology Advisors work with small and medium-sized enterprises on-site to assess your needs and design solutions which can be tailored to your business.
NRC-IRAP offers you direct technical assistance, access to the latest technological advances, expertise, facilities and resources. NRC-IRAP may also provide cost-shared financing of innovative technical projects to qualified firms.
Thirty-three Industrial Technology Advisors work in British Columbia and the Yukon. They cover the lower mainland, interior/eastern B.C., northern B.C., Vancouver Island and the Yukon. Expertise reflects regional industrial profiles and covers a range of technologies that include the resource-based industries such as forestry, mining, electronics, software and hardware, advanced materials, industrial engineering, food technology, biotechnology, construction, aerospace, fuel cells, electrochemistry, information technologies, engineering and physics.
