Sandy Schwenger started her career as a Healthcare Professional at Hamilton Health Sciences.

In 1996 she launched a Joint Venture with Hamilton Health Sciences and in 1998 took the business outside of the hospital system. PatientCare Solutions (PCS) was founded and continues to grow. PCS specializes in development and delivery of patient education and support programs for the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.

Using principles from practicing as a clinician and from key learning from PCS , Sandy co-founded m‐Health Solutions in 2010. mHS uses mobile cardiac diagnostics to service patients throughout Ontario. To date, over 40,000 patients have been diagnosed with the technology. It is used by over 130 cardiologists; 15 hospitals and 2,500 family physicians/ nurse practitioners.

In 2015/2016 m‐Health Solutions was the recipient of the OCEs Advancing Health grant. They brought their mobile cardiac diagnostic device and model to stroke patients in 6 LHINs.

Sandy is a member of the Board of Directors of MEDEC, on the Cardiovascular Task Force, a member of the Value of Technology steering committee and part of the Hospital to Community Task Force. She is extremely excited to be part of the Healthcare changes over the coming decade.

Sandy is a Mentor-in-Residence in the Master in Translational Research program in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. As a mentor, she assists students in the TRP program achieve their learning objectives; gives feedback and support on their Capstone project ideas; and provides mentorship on career planning to a new generation. The program is envisioned to promote translational research and community building by leveraging active translators, existing networks and translational projects.

A firm believer in collaboration and co‐operation, Sandy's goal is to bring forward new technologies, processes and system innovation to the patients of Canada.
