Short course at Québec Mining + Énergie 2018: Advances in LIBS instrumentation and Emerging Mining Applications

November 19, 2018 — November 19, 2018 — Quebec City, Quebec

Event time: 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm

As part of the Québec Mines + Énergie conference, the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is presenting a short course on advances in field mineral analysis.

This course presents an overview of Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) instrumentations in addition to recent ongoing work using LIBS for analysis of minerals. Examples of applications of LIBS for the analysis of gold-bearing ore samples and mineralogy of ore samples will be used, along with the results and comparison with laboratory analysis. It is designed for geologists, spectroscopists, chemists, mineral processing engineers and metallurgists who wish to have a more detailed understanding on the LIBS technology as a tool in their applications.

See the conference website for more details about the course.
