Guest lecture and fireside chat – advanced manufacturing in Ontario

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. the NRC will host a « fireside chat » between Dr. Wegener, Vice President, Advanced Technologies and Standards at Siemens AG (Munich, Germany) and a leading expert in Industry 4.0 and the digital factory and Jayson Myers, former President and CEO of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) and a member of the steering committee for the short-listed Southern Ontario advanced manufacturing supercluster consortium.

The discussion will focus on the opportunities and challenges facing Ontario's manufacturing and tech sectors – and the Supercluster proposal – and will explore the path forward for Canadian manufacturers in the digital age.

The same morning, Dr. Wegener will also give a lecture, open to the public, on Siemens’ approach to collaboration and Industry 4.0.
