The NRC hosts the CIB Symposium on Durability and Climate Change

September 19, 2018 — September 23, 2018 — Ottawa, Ontario

The effects of climate change have challenged the long-term performance and expected service life of building materials, components, and assemblies. Government initiatives worldwide are focusing on how evidence-based solutions can support the adoption of sustainable building practices and ensure that structures are resilient to the long-term effects of climate change.

The National Research Council of Canada is hosting a five-day symposium in Ottawa, Ontario including a tour of its state-of-the-art facilities at the Construction Research Centre.

DATE: September 19 to 23, 2018
LOCATION: National Research Council of Canada
1200 Montreal Road, Ottawa, ON, Canada

Call for papers

The work presented at the symposium forms part of the CIB W080 work program for 2017-2020. These contributions will support the development of a "Guide to Design for Durability of Wall Assemblies".

Contributions to the symposium will be submitted to the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering for peer-review. Additional information and instructions of paper submissions are available in the CIB call for papers.
