May 22, 2003— Ottawa, Ontario

Black and white photo of the auditorium.

100 Sussex Drive
"Temple of Science"

For many years, into the 1970s, this auditorium was the only one in Ottawa with a 300 person capacity.

The seats are original but they have been reupholstered.

The auditorium walls are Italian marble, with rounded corners, fluted columns and other tasteful ornamentations. The ceiling is a work of art. The painted panels are deeply recessed in artfully decorated wooden framing in a hexagonal pattern. A border — a carved pattern in wood — extends about a foot (30 cm) wide around the edge of the ceiling.
