Mrs. Scott has held a number of leadership positions in healthcare within both the private and public sectors. She was an eminent player both nationally and internationally in the development of telehealth services, industry standards and clinical practice competencies.

She has served as a board/committee member and/or advisor to many organizations, including the Canadian Society of Telehealth, National Initiative for Telehealth Guidelines, Canadian Council of Health Services Accreditation and Canadian Patient Safety Institute. She is also a founding member of the International Council of Nursing's (ICN) Telenursing Special Interest Group and the International Society of Telemedicine and eHealth's Telenursing Working Group. Over the past decade, Scott has served as a Board member or Chair of several provincial and regional economic development organizations, including the Premier's Advisory Council on Innovation. She was one of the founding members of the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) and currently serves as its Chair.

Mrs. Scott holds diplomas from the New Brunswick Community College and the Moncton Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Université de Moncton, and a Master of Nursing from Dalhousie University. Her accomplishments have been recognized by her peers through the Nurses Association of New Brunswick's Award of Merit for Nursing Administration and the Canadian Nurses Association's Centennial Award in recognition of her national and international contribution to the nursing profession.

She was appointed to Council in October 2014.
