Claude Attendu is Executive Director of the National Research Council of Canada's Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) for the Quebec region. He joined NRC in 1993.
Before becoming Executive Director for IRAP Quebec, Claude served as an IRAP Industrial Technology Advisor (ITA) helping SMEs to innovate and improve their technological capacity through contributions and advice. In 1998, he was appointed Director at IRAP. Over the course of his career Claude has developed expertise in investment analysis, quality assurance, innovation and team management.
Prior to joining NRC IRAP, Claude led an R&D group at Bell Canada, where he was responsible for coordinating the establishment of new technologies, including fibre optics, voice recognition and digital multiplex switching systems. He was also, for several years, in charge of planning the long distance telephone network for the Quebec Region.
Claude has served as a member of various boards of directors, including Valotech, NRC-IMI's Crossroads for Industrial Materials Innovation (CIMI) and the Centre francophone d'informatisation des organisations (CEFRIO). He also served on the Canadian Technology Network's management committee.
A professional engineer, Claude holds a Master's degree in telecommunications and has acquired training in Marketing Management from York University.
