The 2017 edition of the NECB is an important step toward Canada’s goal for new buildings, as presented in the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change. To help prepare Canadians, NRC and NRCan are giving Canadians free online access to the NECB 2017.
The Canadian Commission on Building and Fires Codes (CCBFC) recently approved the formation of a new Standing Committee on Energy Efficiency. The committee will focus on the development of progressive energy efficiency targets (tiers) for houses and buildings
The CCBFC is in the process of finalizing a policy paper on accessibility. Organizations involved in accessibility issues are invited to review the paper, which should be ready for external review by mid-June 2018.
