We are looking for a vibrant and dynamic Intellectual Property (IP) Coordinator to Business Management Support (BMS).

BMS aligns Business professionals to NRC portfolios and programs, providing business expertise and Intellectual Property (IP) support in a coordinated and responsive manner. This centralized approach allows NRC to prioritize and channel resources in order to grow its diverse business in a strategic and pro-active way.

As part of Business Management Support, the IP Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Programs and Portfolio administrative activities for all IP files. These tasks will include IP Committees activities; individual IP files decisions and actions, data management, licenses, budgets and correspondence with clients.

Screening criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:


College diploma in business administration or paralegal certification from an accredited program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in coordinating Intellectual Property procedures/processes.

Significant experience using computers in an office environment (including using Microsoft Office Suite, creating spreadsheets, e-mail and a computer based scheduler).

Experience in IP database systems and/or financial (preferably SAP).

Experience in contract administration and interpretation.

Experience in preparing and managing IP budgets.


An acceptable combination of successful completion of Secondary School according to provincial standards plus relevant experience may be considered.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

Technical competencies:

Working knowledge of basic business management practices and IP administration.

Ability to interpret and apply administrative and financial policies and procedures and contracts.

Ability to research, collate, and prepare effective written and verbal reports.

Ability to develop and implement processes and procedures related to contract and IP administration, and work with relational databases.

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with NRC's directives.

Salary range

  • From $53,255 to $62,839 per annum.
  • The incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
