The AMDS program improves product design and reduces the design, development and manufacturing costs for Canadian automotive parts suppliers by developing, validating and commercializing key processing and manufacturing technologies. 2. Additive Manufacturing

Our leading-edge laser consolidation (LC) technology provides low-cost rapid manufacturing of functional metallic prototype parts (tooling) to validate and test your new products. This technology can help reduce development cycle time and costs in the production of small quantity of functional prototype parts.
Our unique laser additive manufacturing technology for low-cost high-performance tooling will help improve your productivity and extend its lifetime, and develop new solutions for part fabrication, low-cost fabrication processes, as well as flexible and emerging manufacturing processes. We can demonstrate successful application for manufacturing, repair and reconfiguring tooling used by Canadian tooling companies.
Our thermal spray technologies provide protection and enhancement to solve problems with materials and parts related to surface wear, corrosion, electrical and heat insulation/conduction. Our processes enhance the performance of engine and transmission parts, offer solutions for component lightweighting, provide advanced manufacturing for mould design/repair and solutions for improving tool capabilities. 3. Enhanced Aerodynamic Performance

Our advanced aerodynamic testing, which uses capabilities in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), wind tunnel testing (six wind tunnels including a full-scale rolling-road facility and a wind tunnel which accommodates light to medium duty vehicles), will provide a complete evaluation of your vehicle.
