Analytical chemistry services
Companies engage NRC’s technical staff to detect, profile, quantify, map, elucidate or characterize samples for molecular structures; pathway identification; biomarker discovery; drug discovery and development; environmental contaminants; and pure or complex mixtures for quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC). These technical services involve specialized instrumentation, including:
- Waters Quattro Premiere XE quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) for plant hormone profiling using ESI MS/MS
- Waters Q-Tof Ultima Global hybrid tandem mass spectrometer and nanoACQUITY UPLC system for protein identification, peptide sequencing, profiling and exact mass analysis of small molecules using ESI or MALDI MS or MS/MS
- Applied Biosystems 4800 Analyzer for high-throughput protein identification and proteomic analysis using MALDI-TOF/TOF MS/MS
- Applied Biosystems Voyager-DE STR Biospectrometry Workstation for identification and mass analysis of proteins, exact mass and structural analysis of peptides and small molecules using linear, reflectron or PSD MALDI-TOF MS
- Micromass Quattro LC quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer and Agilent 1100 HPLC system for mass analysis of biopolymers, quantification and structural analysis of small molecules using APcI or ESI MS or MS/MS
- Waters Quattro Ultima quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer and 2695 HPLC system for accurate quantification and profiling of plant metabolites using APcI or ESI MS/MS
- Automated systems for excision and processing of gel-separated proteins for high-throughput protein identification and proteomic analysis
- API 4000 Q-Trap ESI-MS with Agilent Analytical HPLC with DAD
- Beckman PA 800 Capillary Electrophoresis, with ion trap to increase sensitivity, and data interpretation using MASCOT software
- Agilent LC-MSD SLwith analytical and preparatory HPLC with fraction collectors, detectors (MS, DAD, Fluorescence and RI)
- Agilent GC-MS 6890N with FID and MS detection
- Thermo Delta XP plus GC-IRMS Stable Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer
- Micromass Waters Q-ToF Ultima™ GLOBAL mass spectrometer, a hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer
- NanoLockSpray Source for accurate mass determination
