SpacerACS Stacks

  • The Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) is a third-generation Hubble Space Telescope (HST) instrument installed by space shuttle Columbia astronauts. The goal in producing the ACS stacks is to be able to offer higher level data products to the scientific community. A "stack" is a collection of images taken on exactly the same patch of sky by the telescope. The images in a "stack" are combined to make single image which is deeper and contains far fewer defects.

WFPC2 Stacks

  • The HST Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) Stacks project has been jointly developed by the CADC, the Space Telescope European Coordination Facility (ST-ECF) and the Multimission Archive at STScI (MAST) . The combined images from WFPC2 are the products of the basic registration and averaging of related sets of WFPC2 images, referred to as associations, that are usually performed by archival researchers after the retrieval of their individual images. The product of many person-years of development at CADC and ST-ECF, these combined images form an important new set of high-quality astronomical data that will be useful for a wide range of investigations.

SpacerMega Pipe Stacks

  • MegaPipe is a MegaCam image stacking pipeline. It takes multiple MegaCam images of a patch of sky, calibrates them, combines them into a single image and extracts a source catalogue. If input images in different filters are available for the same pointing, the resulting images are aligned to each other. MegaPrime is the wide-field optical imaging facility on the Canada-France-Hawaii (CFHT).

SpacerCanadian Virtual Observatory (CVO)

  • With Observation Catalog Exploration Tools (Octet), CVO has developed advanced observation query capabilities to help users fully exploit the broad wavelength coverage of our collections. We have also included data from select external collections to increase wavelength coverage from radio to X-ray .
