Military Materiel Engineering
For more than 35 years, the Centre for Surface Transportation Technology has served Canada's Department of National Defence and commercial defence clients as a vehicle and component test centre.
Since 1995, the level of support and range of services provided by CSTT have increased substantially following the closure of National Defence Canada's Land Engineering Test Establishment.
Working To Military Requirements
Able to draw on a team of highly qualified engineers and technologists experienced with military requirements, CSTT delivers rapid, effective, high – integrity support to defence clients.
CSTT's people and facilities generate the information that defence department technical staff need to make decisions in the selection, acquisition, and in – service management of military materiel.
Because the Centre's Ottawa-based facilities are so accessible to defence project officers, they can easily monitor the progress of work conducted on their behalf and participate in its successful completion.
Off – Road Testing
Of particular value in many projects is the off-road test facility utilized by CSTT. The facility provides access to:
- RAMD/off-road durability courses
- swamp, sand, rocks, gravel, and pavement
- sine waves and Belgian pavé
- frame twisters and side slopes of up to 40%
- and grades up to 60%.
At CSTT, you can have one – stop access to a complete range of services – design, prototyping, test and evaluation, engineering analysis, failure analysis, documentation, production, maintenance support engineering, engineering change management, configuration management, systems support, field services and more.
