Field Testing Services

Today, transportation equipment suppliers are expected to develop innovative products within a much shorter time – to – market than in the past.

Moreover, the demand is for lighter and better vehicles, specialized designs, and improved reliability – all of them certified and warranteed.

In addition, fleet owners expect their vehicles to run economically and reliably for longer than ever before.

Test It On The Road!
For over 35 years, CSTT has offered field testing services tailored to the demanding needs of rail, road, and military vehicles.

Drawing on experienced vehicle engineering specialists and an extensive array of mobile test equipment, CSTT delivers outstanding field services anywhere in the world.

Field equipment includes precision transducers for measuring accelerations, velocities, displacements, forces and loads, strains, and frequencies
The Centre is also equipped with instrumented railway wheelsets, and an instrumented railway test car.

To support field testing: a diesel-electric locomotive and railway cars, vehicle weigh scales, gantries, secure indoor storage, and a heavy equipment modification facility to modify and repair client equipment on site.

Following Up On Field Results
Field test often reveal stresses, vibrations, and other problems that need to be studied more closely.

CSTT has the laboratory equipment to do this, including full-scale test facilities for road and rail simulation to reproduce field measurements.

And CSTT has the analytical tools to probe as far and as fast as you need.
Computer modelling covers dynamic responses, ride quality, stability, and wear and surface fatigue.

The Centre also offers static and dynamic stress analysis of components, fatigue life analysis, and damage tolerance analysis.

In short, CSTT testing delivers a view of reality in the field – and a powerful competitive advantage for vehicle designers, manufacturers, and fleet owners.
