Console d'IRM
NRC-IBD researchers in the Magnetic Resonance (MR) Technology Group have designed and constructed their own MRI console, easily customizable for specific, novel applications.
An MRI console houses the “brains” that control an MR imaging system. The console comprises the control electronics, the computers, and the software, including the user interface.
The first demonstration of the NRC console technology, outside its laboratories in Winnipeg, was the MRV installation at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon.
Since the successful veterinary MRI installation in Saskatoon in June 2002, the MR Technology Group has had considerable interest from researchers and research/commercial projects. One area of expressed interest is that of multi-modality imaging – the combination of MRI with other imaging devices in a single package.
Product prototyping is a unique service provided by NRC-IBD. The cross-disciplinary product prototyping team is able to take devices produced by researchers and turn them into commercial products. The combination of scientists and engineers working together is the key to the success of this type of project.
