Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Grinding
The merger of BN and SF created a larger unified railroad with rising traffic, but with a fixed grinding budget. Working with BNSF and its grinding contractor, CSTT developed a new grinding strategy within the existing budget to increase rail life and grinding productivity, while reducing defects and lowering capital budgets for rail replacement.
