Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

The NRC-IFCI High Temperature Fuel Cell (HTFC) program is aimed at improving durability and lowering costs by reducing the operating temperatures and system complexity of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). The program is focused on developing next generation cells and stacks that permit direct oxidation of commercial-grade fuels containing sulphur and other impurities. This involves the development of novel architectures, materials, and processes.
