Group Focus

The mandate of the group is the development of methods for determining the structure and interactions of carbohydrates in microbial virulence and in neurodegenerative disease and the discovery and development of improved enzymes that can efficiently degrade and process plant biomass for various industrial applications.

Ongoing Research Activities and Projects

Glycoanalysis
Development of glycomics and lipidomics technologies for biomedical applications. Maintain state-of-the-art enabling glycoanalysis facilities and expertise to develop technological improvements and novel applications for research programs and meet the needs of the Biopharma sector.

Glycosidases
Development of Glycosidase System for Production of Biofibers for use in the textile industry. Development of Cellulase Technology for the Processing BioProducts for production of biofuels and novel biomaterials.
