Immunobiology Program

"A primary focus of the Immunobiology Program is directed towards harnessing the immune system and understanding the role of glycoconjugates and host-pathogen interactions in normal biological function and disease."

    Dr. J.R. Brisson

    Director, Immunobiology Program

The Immunobiology Program carries out molecular-level research of strategic importance on infectious diseases, neurobiology, and cancer. The Immunobiology Program brings together a team of about 100 scientists with expertise ranging from carbohydrate chemistry to models of disease pathogenesis. Multidisciplinary and integrated research activities are leading to new targets for therapeutic intervention and vaccine design. Expertise in glycosciences is also exploited to generate novel clean technologies for bioproducts.

The program structure comprises six distinct groups: Antibody Engineering, Carbohydrate Therapeutics, Glycoanalysis and Bioprocessing, Glycoimmunology, Immunomodulation,  and Infections and Immunity
