Glycoprocessing and Glycoanalysis
The Glycoprocessing and Glycoanalysis program conducts research and develops novel therapies for treating chronic, infectious and age-related neurological diseases. Its research focuses on understanding the role of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates (carbohydrates plus a protein or a lipid) and their associated biosynthetic enzymes in normal biological function and disease. Glycoprocessing enzymes are also exploited for novel applications to environmental sciences by development of novel bioproducts. Through collaborations and service agreements, researchers transfer this newly created knowledge to the Canadian biopharmaceutical and bioproduct industry.
