The research focus is aimed at the development of medical applications based on near infrared - optical spectroscopy, imaging and spectroscopic imaging. Research projects typically involve preclinical detection of disease or change in patient status using minimally invasive or noninvasive in vivo optical spectroscopy. Applications include point-of-care monitoring of perfusion and related hemodynamic parameters, intra-operative and post-operative assessment of tissue viability, spectroscopic investigation of ischemia - reperfusion injury.
NRC-authored publication citations are available in the NRC Publications Archive (NPArC); once in NPArC, enter author’s name and select "Author" from the drop-down menu.
