Find below a chronologic list of upcoming projects and activities that could have an effect on residents of Rothwell Heights. Rest assured that NRC will work to minimize any disturbances caused by research activities.

Saturday September 7, Saturday September 14, Saturday September21, & Saturday September 28

Description: Pumping of building septic tanks on the Montreal Road campus.

Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Disturbance: Low to medium levels of odours; medium levels of noise

Location: Montreal road campus, multiple buildings

September 4 to 9, 2013

Description: Wind tunnel testing, usage of gas turbine engines as a power source

Time: Testing could occur between 8 a.m. and 16:30 p.m.

Disturbance: Low level noise. Low to medium levels of odors

Location: North of Montreal Road Campus, building M-46

Starting on Monday, September 9, 2013 (2 days of testing)

Description: Combustion testing with natural gas

Time: During regular work hours (between 8 a.m. and 17:30 p.m.)

Disturbance: No odours, medium level noise, and visible steam plume

Location: North of Montreal Road Campus, building M-10F

Ongoing - Structural concrete repairs - June 20, 2013

Please note that we have contracted through ATCO to undertake the structural concrete repairs of the service tunnel located at the intersection of Whitby Lane and Legget Avenue (refer to Key Plan below). Jersey barriers and construction fence have been erected for everyone’s safety. The excavation and associated work should start June 20th and is expected to last a few weeks. There will be noise associated with the heavy equipment operating on a daily basis Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Time: Testing could occur between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. on weekdays.

Disturbance: Low level noise; low to medium levels of odours.

Location: North of Montreal Road Campus, buildings M-10 and M-11.
