Edward Shinewald President, Melet Plastics Inc., Winnipeg, purchased Melet Plastics in 1985 and employed approximately 20 people at that time. Today Melet employs around 110 people. Melet is a Custom Injection Molder providing Engineering Design, Mold Design, Mold making, Injection Molding, Assembly and Decoration. Melet ships across North America.

In 1987 Melet purchased AmbuTech, a small business which makes Canes for the visually impaired. Today AmbuTech operates as an autonomous division of Melet Plastics Inc and sells canes around the world.

In 2006, at a gala dinner hosted by the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), Ed was inducted into the Manitoba Manufacturers Hall of Fame in recognition of three decades of contributions to the manufacturing community and to the community at large. Under Ed's leadership and vision, Melet Plastics has achieved significant growth over his 20 years of ownership. The company is highly regarded in industry as being both innovative and progressive.

Melet Plastics received the 2005 Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Excellence Award and was a finalist for the 2003 Canada Export Awards.

General Manager Equinox Industries Ltd. 1972-1984. Built business from scratch with senior partner. Company made fiberglass products, Septic and Water Storage Tanks, Shower Stalls and Shower Tubs, plus Rotationally Molded Liquid Fertilizer and Chemical Tanks under the name 'Timna'. By 1984 the company had developed to the stage where it was an employer of close to 100 people.
