Sean Frisky is the founder and the CEO of Ground Effects Environmental Services Inc. (GEE). A Saskatchewan-based company GEE designs and manufactures large-scale remediation and water treatment systems for use in manufacturing and refineries throughout North America and the world. In a little over a decade, GEE become the most innovative remediation technology company, building the best and most sophisticated equipment available.

GEE hold four patents and an industry-leading 70+ innovations. In 1998, Mr. Frisky started the company in my basement while attending university. The equipment has cleaned up hundreds of contamination sites around the world and they’ve earned countless awards for our innovative remediation technologies – including the Business Development Bank Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2005). Based at a four acre, 26,000-square-foot facility just north of Regina, GEE currently has systems operating across Canada, United States and Australia. The business model is essentially this: they accept nothing less than the best. They set the highest standards and then they create the plans that will help reach those high standards. A motivating question for every employee during each stage of development is: “how can they make it better?”

Today the company maintains a 99% runtime on all their systems (industry standard is 65%) and they continue to break through categories with their innovative approaches to remediation problem solving. The latest technology, the ELECTROPURE Technology (EPT) is a system designed to treat waste water for reuse onsite during the fracturing of wells for the oil & gas industry. EPT is an environmentally sustainable technology that essentially removes the need for disposal and trucking of water during fracturing. It also has industrial and mining applications.
