The theme of the symposium at the EDRA (Environmental Design Research Association) 38th Annual Conference in Sacramento was Workplace Design and Organizational Culture; this session took place on May 30th, 2007. The symposium explored how successful workplaces reflect aspects of organizational culture and how culture should influence the physical form of the workplace. The symposium addressed questions such as:
- What is workplace culture?
- How should culture influence workplace design?
- What are the possible effects of space on workplace culture?
- How can we measure the spatial effects of workplace culture?
- What is the relationship between workplace culture and national culture?
