As Canada’s leading construction research and technology development agency, NRC Construction helps Canada’s construction industry to innovate by performing research and development, product evaluation, development of test methods, standards and decision-support tools that help support a well-functioning marketplace, the construction of high performance buildings and infrastructure, both here at home and around the world.
We work with provinces and territories as well as with the construction industry to develop and publish model building and fire codes that establish the minimum performance and safety requirements for buildings across Canada.
NRC Construction can help remove uncertainties and financial risks in the development and use of new technologies by performing research and development, by carrying out applied contract research as well as by providing access to state-of-the-art labs and testing facilities. We also provide intellectual property (IP) for licensing to organizations who can transform our technical knowledge into viable products, tools and services.
