In Canada, it is common knowledge that the absence of metrology programs at Canadian universities means that the majority of metrologists are trained 'on the job'. This is particularly true for SMEs where investment in metrological specialization is difficult because of inefficiencies of scale. INMS responds to the challenge to provide education-based services directly to industry, stakeholder associations and other government departments by organizing and delivering external conferences and seminars concerning the measurement of basic physical quantities and the application of metrology.
