NRC Institute for National Measurement Standards

NRC Institute for National Measurement Standards

Electrical Power Measurements is one of 11 core research areas in metrology. Canada’s electric power generation, transmission and distribution industry relies on national standards and new technologies to ensure that the power supply is stable, measured accurately and billed fairly.

For close to a hundred years, metrologists at NRC have been researchers, developers, and guardians of Canada’s most accurate primary measurement standards, science and technology. Disseminating the products of their unique expertise across the nation and around the globe enables innovation, supports international trade, protects the environment and enhances quality of life.
