NRC-IMB is dedicated to improving the health of Canadians and to finding alternative fuel sources. Our unique, multidisciplinary approach is focused on marine bioproducts for the discovery, characterization and development of bioactives, natural toxins, functional foods, nutraceuticals and green alternatives to fossil fuels.

Cluster Initiatives

Cluster initiatives across Canada are generating results as critical masses of skilled people, capital and entrepreneurial drive come together to create beneficial technologies for markets around the world. The NRC Institute for Marine Biosciences is fully engaged in the Life Sciences cluster initiative, working in partnership with stakeholders on a number of key research projects.
