Visual Information Technology
Visual communications are pervasive in information technology and are a key enabler of most new emerging media. In this context, the NRC Institute for Information Technology (NRC-IIT) Visual Information Technology (VIT) Group performs research, development and technology transfer activities to enable access to 3D information of the real world.
VIT group staff conducts research in three main areas.
- Virtualizing Reality and Visualization
- Collaborative Virtual Environments
- 3D Data Mining and Management
These research activities are being applied in many fields including the field of cultural heritage throughout the world.
