The Magnetic Resonance Research and Development (MRR&D) Group partners with clinicians and industry to move research of new magnetic resonance hardware, acquisition methods, and software solutions out of the lab to ultimately improve Canadian healthcare. With a state-of-the-art 3T Siemens MRI scanner on-site fully dedicated to research and access to five other MRI scanners in Winnipeg, MRR&D collaborates with numerous clinicians at local hospitals and universities as well as local and multinational industrial partners to improve magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy.
Current research in the group focuses on using MR in cancer research, new hardware and technique development , and neuroimaging. Our primary objective is to ensure that new ideas are championed through the early research phase, to in-house testing, and eventually to clinical application to benefit the health of Canadians.
