The city of Penticton, located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, is famous as a vacation destination, largely as a result of its wonderful, warm dry climate, and the beaches on Okanagan and Skaha Lakes. With an excellent climate, the Okanagan has become one of the leading wine-producing areas in Canada, with many vineyards around Penticton and in the South Okanagan. Penticton is also well-known as the home of the Ironman Canada triathlon, but there are many opportunities for outdoor activities: golf, sailing, paddling, climbing, and biking to name a few.
