Lachlan Cranswick (1968-2010) who worked at the NRC Canadian Neutron Beam Centre located at Chalk River Laboratories is being honoured posthumously for his scientific work in crystallography.
The NRC-CNBC enables researchers to use neutron beams as tools for world-class materials research, which provides new understandings of materials and improves products for businesses. Each year, over 200 scientists, engineers, and students from universities, government labs, and industry participate in research depending on access to its six neutron beam lines.
