The instrumentation for characterization and structure determination available on-site include: X-ray diffraction single crystal (Bruker Smart CCD) and powder (Rigaku, Scintag, NMR spectroscopy (solid state DSX-400, DSX 200, Tecmag 500, AMX-300, Tecmag 200, solution (ASX-400), with microimaging on the first three, UV/VIS, FT-IR, Raman (Acton), DSC/TGA (TA instruments), Pore size analysis (Micromeritics ASAP 2010), quartz crystal microbalances (Q-Sense and home-built), high pressure gas adsorption apparatus (home-built). Two flow systems for producing hyperpolarized xenon are available, as well as cells hor high pressure NMR (~ 300 bar). Ancillary equipment for synthetic work includes pressure vessels, ovens, chillers, vacuum lines, etc. Facilities are available for the construction of specialized NMR probes, high pressure cells and vessels, specialized apparatus, etc.
Both these Centres are located in the W. G. Schneider Building (M-40) on the Montreal Road campus. See Website for more informatiom.
