Exit criteria for the IPF are in keeping with the goals and objectives of the facility, yet they must be flexible enough to apply to special situations. The ultimate goal is to graduate successful businesses. Businesses are expected to graduate in eight years. Longer stays may be considered under exceptional circumstances.

Following are some guidelines to use when considering when it is time for you to leave the IPF:

1) Successful completion of the "Commercialization" stage of growth.

2) Eight years residency in the IPF.

3) Needs of business no longer fit resources available at NRC.

4) Three consecutive unsatisfactory reviews. (Business plans will be reviwed annually with the IPF Manager)

5) Ability of the business to "go it alone" outside the IPF.

6) Financial self-sufficiency.

7) Conduct deemed to be detrimental to the reputation of the IPF and NRC, or which compromises the health and safety of other IPF tenants or NRC personnel.
