Entrance
Admission Standards are established to ensure that the businesses accepted for the NRC-IPF are those which will most fully benefit from the advantages afforded through the NRC-IPF program. In selecting an applicant for admission into the NRC-IPF, the following general criteria will be considered:
- Significant benefit must be derived from the business' interaction with NRC.
- The business should indicate their clear position in the marketplace, evidenced by a marketing and business plan.
- The business should be able to graduate from the incubator in three years and continue growing.
- The business should have a detailed, written business plan that includes market analysis, financial projections, funding requirements, management background, and related information.
- The business should have the potential for economic expansion, including job creation, sales, etc.
Exit
Exit criteria for the NRC-IPF are in keeping with the goals and objectives of the facility, yet they must be flexible enough to apply to special situations. The ultimate goal is to graduate successful businesses. Businesses are expected to graduate in three years. Longer stays may be considered under exceptional circumstances.
Following are some guidelines to use when considering when it is time for you to leave the NRC-IPF:
- Successful completion of the "Commercialization" stage of growth.
- Three years residency in the NRC-IPF.
- Needs of business no longer fit resources available at NRC.
- Three consecutive unsatisfactory reviews.
- Ability of the business to "go it alone" outside the NRC-IPF.
- Financial self-sufficiency.
- Conduct deemed to be detrimental to the reputation of the NRC-IPF and NRC, or which compromises the health and safety of other NRC-IPF tenants or NRC personnel
