The NRC-IPF Ottawa is a technology based incubation program located on the Montreal Road campus of the National Research Council. Business incubation facilities are a catalyst for starting and growing businesses. Statistics Canada states that a high proportion of incubated companies survive the critical early years, whereas most companies that go it alone, fail to make it past their first birthday. Offering over 60,000 square feet of laboratory and office space rented at commercial rates, we understand the need for SMEs to be in close proximity to NRC staff involved in R&D into advanced software and hardware components.
The IPF's revolving door policy allows multiple companies at a time to occupy space and collaborate with researchers on the campus of Canada's leading scientific organization.

The ICT sector represented by NRC-IIT and NRC-IMS has approximately 108 scientists, 42 technical officers, and 13 business support professionals. We offer business incubation services and facilities to emerging technology companies so they can grow stronger, faster.
In addition to the advantage of working with the leading researchers in the field, the management of the facility will provide linkages to expert advice in areas such as venture capital, legal and marketing concerns. You will find help with the preparation of your marketing strategy and business plan as well as benefit from the close association with other companies in the same situation. The local NRC-IRAP office will be able to assist you with information on financial resourcing and technology evaluation.
