100 mm Radial Bearing Static / Dynamic Test Facility
The 100 mm (4-inch) diameter radial bearing static / dynamic test facility:
- measures bearing static characteristics at speeds up to 16,500 rpm and loads to 7,000 lb.
- accurate measurement of bearing metal temperatures
- polar dynamic loading cycle, with computer control of the input forces from electromagnetic shakers
- measurement of bearing dynamic characteristics, including shaft orbit and stiffness/ damping coefficients
- up to 7 gpm (US) oil flowrate with inlet temperature to 70°C (± 1°C accuracy)
- capability to apply and control bearing misalignment
- shaft to bearing contact resistance measurements
- particle injection for evaluation of lubricant filtration mediums.
