Perseid Meteor Shower Event at the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory

August 12, 2017 — Kaleden, BC

Interested in astronomy? If you live in the Okanagan Valley, plan a visit to the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory (DRAO) this summer to take in unobstructed views of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower. One of the most spectacular meteor events to occur regularly, it's common to see 80 meteors an hour.

NRC Astronomers will guide your observations with enlightening presentations, and the Royal Astronomical Society will reveal the splendors of the night sky with their telescopes. A concession will also be provided by the 259 Panther Royal Canadian Air Cadets.

Admission is free. Bring a blanket or lounge chair, and dress warmly, for your comfort.
