Mendelevium

The name "mendelevium," for the 101st element, was named in honour of the "Father of the Periodic Table," Dimitri Mendeleev.

This element is highly radioactive and is created by bombarding einsteinium with helium. Only a few atoms of mendelevium have ever been produced due to its instability. This element has no biological role and would only pose a radiation risk if produced in large quantities.
