Edge-on Spiral Galaxy

Edge-on Spiral Galaxy

Located about 30 million light years away, this large spiral galaxy, NGC 4565, consisting of billions of stars, is seen from the side. It is spiral in shape like our own Milky Way, which in dark skies we see as a band of faint light.
