Horsehead Nebula
The Horsehead is part of a gigantic cloud of molecular gas and dust, a star-forming region only 1500 light years away in the constellation Orion. The light from young, hot blue stars reflects off the dust particles in the denser areas of the cloud to create the silhouette effect.
