Canadian Passport

By the end of 2012, Canada will begin issuing ePassports that will look just like current passports, but with a scientific twist – an electronic chip that stores a photograph of the passport holder, as well as standard passport information such as name and place of birth. The chip within each passport is assigned a digital signature unique to the Government of Canada, which helps prove that the passport is genuine. If the chip is tampered with, its electronic lock will be broken and fraud will be easy to detect. (Photo courtesy of Passport Canada.)
