The Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) invites interested parties to take part in the fall 2012 public review of proposed changes to the 2010 editions of the National Model Construction Codes. The review will run from September 24 to November 16, 2012 on the National Model Construction Codes website.

The proposed changes in this annual public review will deal with a variety of topics, including:

  • indoor air contaminants
  • guard loads and vehicle guardrails
  • ferrous pipes and fittings
  • definition of dangerous goods
  • protection of foamed plastics
  • smoke tightness of closures in fire separations
  • smoke dampers

An explanation of the proposed changes, as well as instructions on how to submit comments, will be provided on the website. Following the review, all comments will be considered and recommendations on the proposed changes will be made. Subject to approval by the CCBFC in spring 2014, the final changes will be published in the 2015 editions of the National Model Construction Codes.
