A number of NRC researchers have been recognized internationally as leaders in their field. And where else but NRC have employees won a Nobel Prize for science, an Academy Award and helped Canada capture Olympic Gold. By becoming a member of the NRC team, you will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with current and future experts. Perhaps you are one of them!
Pride of being associated with a key contributor to Canada
By joining NRC, you are becoming part of the organization that played a key role in giving Canada and the world the pacemaker, the electronic keyboard, the emergency beacon for aircrafts and the Canadarm to name but a few. What's next?

NRC staff work in some of the best facilities in Canada. NRC covers the range of leading edge facilities, with a one-of-a-kind Environmental Chamber for testing fuel cells, an ultrafast laser laboratory, the NRC Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre... In the near future, what will be the quietest space in Canada? What will be the new specialized facilities being build for nanotechnology research?

Park-like campus - Ottawa
NRC's main campus offers easy access to joggers, walkers and in-line skaters to break away during the day and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Most buildings have shower and locker facilities. There are also areas for soccer, volleyball and even beach volleyball during the summer! There are ample picnic areas and easy access to a shopping centre, grocery store and pharmacy, as well as numerous restaurants. NRC institutes in other cities are often located on or next to university campuses and tend to enjoy a similar park-like surrounding and easy access to other facilities and services.
Access to day care - Ottawa
NRC families are given priority enrolment at the Sunflower Co-operative Day Nursery which is located only five minutes from the NRC Montreal Road Campus. This facility has a family-oriented and child-centred philosophy focused on meeting the social, emotional, and cognitive needs of children aged 18 months to five years. Full and partial subsidies as well as part-time spaces are available.
