Eurostars program

New innovation advantage for Canadian SMEs through access to technology, expertise, and markets in Europe and beyond

What is Eurostars?

Eurostars is looking for Canadian experts

Eurostars is accepting applications from Canadian citizens and permanent residents with expertise both in an area of technology and in the field of business interested in joining its pool of international experts. Selected experts will make use of the experience they have acquired to provide objective evaluations of proposals submitted through the Eurostars program. They will be paid for the services they provide (approximately $250 CDN per project reviewed).

If you are interested in taking your "know-how" to a global stage, check to see if you meet the criteria and apply to Eurostars.

Eurostars is the first European funding and support program specifically dedicated to support the niche market of research-performing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in their innovative R&D projects. It stimulates international collaborative research and innovation projects that will be rapidly commercialised. It is co-funded from the national budgets of 35 Eurostars countries and by the European Union. Participating countries earmark funds for their participants, following national funding rules and procedures.

Since its inception in 2007, Eurostars has funded more than 800 projects for an estimated public funding of $668M.

Criteria for SMEs to qualify for Eurostars

  • Your organization is a Canadian R&D-performing SME
  • You have a civilian-purpose project that addresses any technological area for any market, aimed at the development of a new product, process or service
  • You have found one (or several) partner(s) in one (or many) other participant country(ies) - we can help you find strong international partners.
