NRC's Council reviews the strategic directions and oversees the operations and performance of the organization. It usually meets three time a year and has two standing committees: the Executive Committee and the Human Resources Committee. It also has ad hoc task forces. The Council is chaired by the President of NRC and the other members are appointed by the Government of Canada for three-year terms. Current members are:
