Paul Wiebe

Paul Wiebe was appointed to the position of General Manager of NRC’s Medical Devices portfolio in April 2012.
Mr. Wiebe’s career with NRC began in 1994 in a business development capacity, with activities ranging from marketing NRC’s technical services capabilities in medical devices to facilitating the formation of medical device spin-off companies based on NRC’s research innovations. In 2000, he assumed a new role in NRC’s corporate business relations office in Ottawa, helping build a strategic intellectual property management framework for NRC and providing technology commercialization advisory services to other science-based federal departments and agencies.
In 2004, Mr. Wiebe was appointed to a business and support services director role at the NRC Institute for Biodiagnostics, with responsibilities for managing technology commercialization, administrative and operations support, and leading several key initiatives including projects to stimulate regional growth of medical device research and commercialization.
Prior to joining NRC, Mr. Wiebe held positions in the pharmaceutical and information technology industries. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Manitoba.
