Michel Piché was appointed NRC’s Vice-President, Corporate Management and Chief Financial Officer in July 2011. He joined NRC with more than 33 years experience in finance and corporate services — the last 14 years as Chief Financial Officer for various public, private and non-profit organizations.

His most recent role was as Chief Financial Officer for a large North American stainless steel wire manufacturer, where he was instrumental in their strategic plant and corporate restructuring. From 2006 to 2008, he was Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer at the Canadian Red Cross Society, where he implemented "best of class" budget policies to align strategic and operating plans, and cost reductions projects.

Prior to this, Mr. Piché held the positions of Vice-President and CFO at Explosive Technologies International in North Bay; Vice-President Corporate Services and CFO at Northern Tel in northern Ontario; and various finance positions with Canadian Pacific Forest Products Ltd. Between 1977 and 1988, he worked in audit and taxation for public and private organizations.

Mr. Piché holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from l'École nationale d'administration publique de l'Université du Québec. He is also a graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s Executive Marketing Program and of Duke University's Executive Management Program. He is a certified internal auditor (CIA) and a certified management accountant (CMA).
